Tears, Fears, and Hanging by a Prayer

True Stories of Survival
ISBN #978-1-934615-66-9
Paperback - 114 Pages

On March 3, 2009, my husband fell from the roof of a house and my world, as I knew it, ended. When he died several days later at the Med in Memphis, Tennessee, I started my grief journey. This journey continues today, because grief has a beginning, but no end. We are not educated in the grief process, because it is too painful to consider losing someone we love. We prefer to bury our heads in the sand and hope that it does not happen to us. Death is no respecter of persons, so we can all expect to experience the loss of a loved one at some point in our lives. I hope as you read my grief journal and learn about the events and people in my life, you will gain some insight into my transition from victim to survivor. I am no different from you. If I can handle grief and the adversity that followed, then rest assured you can too. You are not alone, and you are not the first person to experience the heartache and suffering caused by the death of someone you love. Your life will not change overnight, but with time, perseverance, and faith in God, you can reinvent yourself and continue your life. The way we live our lives after the funeral is a tribute to the one we lost.
